Form of clothing traditionally has changed due to modernization and urbanization. There has been a huge decline in traditional forms. Designs, draping style and production means have really changed over the period. But much of love and fascination for saree has not changed among the women of India. Saree has distinguished the caste, marital status and geographical / place of origin of a woman. Draping a saree is definitely an art in itself and makes the woman noticeable and sometimes prominent. The modern style of wearing saree relates to Devi Janandini relative of Rabindranath Tagore with Nivi style of Andhra. Bengal Saree includes Jamdani which is world famous and has prominent place in history and lot of stories associated with it. The Jamdani, Baluchari, Bishnupuri, Kantha, Dhakai, Tussar, Musrhidabad Silk and many more are the Sarees which are produced in Bengal and every saree has its own history associated with it. Bengal is rich in its Saree production but what it needs is patronage
